Descripción : This research was carried out in two phases, field and laboratory. The first took place in the San Miguel parish of the Salcedo canton, Cotopaxi province. The second in the laboratory of the UTC Salache Campus. The harvest index of prickly pear (Opuntia ficus - indica) and cleaning strategies in the post-harvest conservation of the fruit for storage were evaluated. We worked with two study factors: three maturity indices (light green, predominant yellow and reddish orange) and three cleaning strategies (mechanical with brooms, heat source and tulle fabric). The variables evaluated were: color, presence of diseases-pests-physiopathies, weight loss, diameter, firmness, SSL, pH, humidity and ash. The methodology was experimental and DBCA was used with factorial arrangement for 3 repetitions, obtaining 9 treatments each with 10 prickly pears. The results regarding the maturity index, the index that was found in range A was light green, it was 93.33% presence of diseases-pests-cystopathies at 34 days, weight loss 94.86%, diameter 5, 15 cm, firmness 2.67%, while in SST the maturity index that is in range A is reddish orange with 11.38%. The mechanical cleaning strategy with brooms prolonged the storage time of the prickly pear, presenting damage of 91.11% due to the presence of diseases-pests-physiopathies at 28 days, while the heat source strategies reached 100% damage due to this variable at 25 days. Therefore, it is concluded that the best harvest time is the light green maturity index for longer shelf life and the cleaning strategy that causes the least damage to the fruit is mechanical cleaning with brooms, which also presented the lowest cost per prickly pear.2023-06-01T00:00:00ZEvaluación de alcaloides de chocho (Lupinus mutabilis Sweet) para el control de antracnosis (Colletotrichum sp.) en chocho, en condiciones de laboratorio.
Descripción : In the study titled "Evaluation of lupine alkaloids (Lupinus mutabilis Sweet) for the control of anthracnose (Colletotrichum sp.) in lupine, under laboratory conditions. Salache, Latacunga, Cotopaxi 2021" the alkaloids present in Lupinus mutabilis Sweet were evaluated. for its potential antifungal activity against Colletotrichum sp. These alkaloids were evaluated under laboratory conditions, for which we worked with 2 study factors A (type of macerated control and residual liquid from the hydrated lupine) * B (concentrations) + 2 controls (chemical and absolute). Concentrations at 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% were evaluated, with a completely randomized block design with 10 treatments and three repetitions, obtaining a total of 30 experimental units. The variables under study were the percentage of mycelial inhibition, speed of mycelial growth and the color of the mycelium. The results obtained showed that the alkaloids present in lupine exhibited significant antifungal activity against Colletotrichum sp. A greater inhibition of fungal growth was demonstrated, so it was determined that the concentration of 50% of the macerate in the fifth data collection inhibited 60.44%; and the 75% concentration had an inhibition percentage of 66.87%; demonstrating that lupine macerated control type alkaloids could be used for the development of natural antifungal treatments in agriculture. In this study it emerged that the alkaloids present in lupine have a potential antifungal effect against Colletotrichum sp. These results could have important implications for the development of natural and sustainable methods of disease control in lupine crops.2023-07-01T00:00:00Z
