Water, one of the main vital resources for human beings, which is currently a cause of concern for the world, the country, the province and the region, is why different governmental and non-governmental institutions are implementing conservation programs and protection of this important resource
The springs and springs are highly vulnerable to natural, anthropogenic and technological phenomena, which constantly threaten this resource, which once altered, can hardly be recovered with its own and natural characteristics.
The present research work provides, alternatively, the proposal of activities for the conservation, protection and recovery of water springs, caused by all types of anthropogenic actions, deteriorated within certain territorial units that correspond to the large flows of the paramo ecosystem. The proposal approaches the reality of the community investigated, being able to determine the type of activities carried out by the population in relation to the production model and, as a relevant topic, the identification and quantification of sites degraded by them. For this reason, emphasis is certainly placed on the recovery, protection, and conservation of the riverbanks of the basins and micro-basins that the community has with special treatment.

This study addresses the relationship between organizational culture and performance in mechanical workshops in the city of Latacunga, Ecuador. The central problem lies in the lack of understanding about how different aspects of organizational culture influence business performance in the context of mechanical workshops, a crucial sector for the local economy. The main objective of the research is to analyze and quantify the impact of organizational culture, broken down into dimensions: cooperative, cultural coherence and effectiveness, on the performance of mechanical workshops. To address this objective, the PLS-SEM (Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling) methodology was used. Information was collected through structured surveys from workshop owners and employees, and various variables related to organizational culture and performance were analyzed. The results of the PLS-SEM analysis revealed that cultural effectiveness is the dimension that has the greatest positive impact on workshop performance, followed by cultural coherence and cooperative culture. The coefficients obtained were validated using a bootstrap procedure, which confirmed their robustness and statistical significance. Cultural effectiveness showed a coefficient of 0.539, indicating a strong and positive relationship with performance, while cultural coherence and cooperative culture presented coefficients of 0.227 and 0.220, respectively. In conclusion, the findings underline the importance of strengthening organizational culture as a key strategy to improve the performance of mechanical workshops in Latacunga.

Caudal, Fuentes Hídricas y Crecimiento poblacional en las Zonas Altas de Eloy Alfaro
(Ecuador: Latacunga: Universidad Técnica de cotopaxi (UTC), 2024-10-12) Cóndor Mallitasig Leonel Geovanny; Moreano Martínez Luis David
This research addresses the ramifications of population increase and the proliferation of urban development in the delicate páramos ecosystems within the Eloy Alfaro parish, located in the canton of Latacunga, Ecuador, as well as the implications of this phenomenon on the availability of water resources over the last decade. A quantitative methodology, using census data, satellite images, and field assessments, was adopted to assess the extent of these alterations. The results indicate that the population has increased by 45%, leading to chaotic urban expansion that has reduced the páramos surface by 15%, negatively impacting water regulation mechanisms. Forecasts suggest that by 2040, the population is expected to reach 12,000 people, which will raise water demand to unsustainable levels. The current water supply is insufficient, and if corrective measures are not taken, the water deficit is expected to increase significantly. Proposed interventions include strategies for páramos conservation, optimizing water use, and establishing sustainable water infrastructure as possible remedies to address this crisis.

Nutrient digestibility allows to optimize and improve feed conversion and productive performance in birds, so there is a need to evaluate food alternatives that cover their nutritional requirements. The general objective of the following research was to determine the nutrient digestibility in broiler chickens fed with different sources of fiber. For the development of the research, 64 chickens of the Cobb 500 line of 42 days of age were used, with an average weight of 7075 g, they were randomly assigned to four treatments including different sources of fiber T1: control, T2: 18% wheat bran, T3: 18% rice husk and T4: 18% palm kernel. The diets were formulated considering the nutritional requirements of the Cobb 500 chicken line. A completely randomized design was applied. The variables studied were dry matter digestibility, organic matter, crude fiber, crude fat, crude protein. The data were analyzed in the statistical package Infostat by means of a variance analysis, in which the fiber sources were taken as the main variation factors and the Tukey test was used to compare means. The results presented statistical differences, p < 0,05 for dry matter, organic matter and crude fiber, showing a higher percentage of digestibility with the inclusion of 5% of wheat bran with 80.3; 67.00; 15.06% respectively; while for crude protein p = 0.181 and crude fat p = 0.281, there was no difference between treatments. It is concluded that the inclusion of fiber sources in the diet of broilers shows acceptable nutrient digestibility percentages.

Teachers’ perceptions of virtual reality in the development of vocabulary
(Ecuador : Pujilí : Universidad Técnica de Cotopaxi (UTC), 2023) Pacheco Díaz, Francis Marcelo; Cando, Fabiola Soledad
Virtual reality is a technological tool that provides immersive learning experiences for a better understanding, promotes collaborative work, and contains authentic material to develop communicative competencies. Users can witness new things that the real environment cannot provide for learning. This qualitative research aimed to describe the teachers' perception of virtual reality in English language learning after participating in a training course of 5 sessions. It was phenomenological research because it analyzed 5 English teachers’ experiences after being immersed in the virtual world to test VR apps to develop language. Participants tried 5 apps where students can enhance their language. Data was collected by using participants' journals. The teachers’ reflections were analyzed through thematic analysis. The study shows that teachers believe that virtual reality can positively assist students in English language learning with an immersive language environment, authentic material, hands-on activities, and audio-visual aids. Teachers showed positive attitudes toward virtual reality to improve English language learning and teaching with this technological tool. Teachers suggest virtual reality promotes higher opportunities to enhance language learning and teaching. In conclusion, Virtual reality is an effective learning tool that teachers can apply in their classes to make them more engaging and meaningful for students.
