Solar radiation can be considered a natural factor that affects the Earth, which is essential for terrestrial life since its influence molds the climate. This research aims to determine the global radiation and the percentage of UV radiation through historical data of heliophany for 1970 - 2015 period, in three continental regions of Ecuador. Based on four conventional and automatic stations of the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology ('INAMHI'), which have heliograph, pyranometer, and radiometer instruments such as 'Izobamba' (Highlands), 'Pedernales - Bahía de Caráquez' (Coast), and 'Puyo' (Amazon) stations. Data on heliophany (hours/sun/day), global solar radiation (W/m^2/h/day), and UV radiation (W/m^2/h/day) were collected, analyzed, processed, and filtered in R. statistic. The Angstrom - Page method was used to convert sunlight into daily global radiation so, it was necessary to calculate the extraterrestrial radiation for daily periods, which implies knowing the values of solar declination, hour angle, distance from the Earth to the sun, and the geographical latitude of each station. The empirical constant was calculated using the mathematical model through the relationship between heliophany and global radiation, where a = 0.2647 (slope) and b = 0.4665 (the cut-off point on the Y-axis). The validation of the observed data from 'INAMHI' and the data calculated through the Angstrom - Page method was 0.88 for the determination coefficient and 93.86% for correlation, a value close to 1. It was determined that it has a high similarity, and data is reliable for the Highlands. For the Coast and Amazon region, there was no good fit and data coincidence for the study. The equation model that transforms heliophany into global radiation was also determined using historical data at the 'Izobamba' meteorological station. Finally, the relative percentage of UV band in continental Ecuador was found, 6.79% for the 'Izobamba' station (Highlands), 6.00% for the 'Puyo' station (Amazon), and 5.19% for the 'Pedernales' station (Coast). Subsequently, UV radiation in Ecuador is within the range 5 <UVes_ES
