Descripción : Considering that fine psychomotor skills are an area where many infants present problems and deficiencies in their development, which affects later learning processes, such as writing acquisition, the objective of this research was to diagnose the incidence of the painting technique in the development of fine psychomotor skills in children from 4 to 5 years of age at the "19 de Septiembre" Educative Unit in the Salcedo canton. The methodology applied in the development of the project had a mixed approach, through the inductive, bibliographic, and documentary methods; the instruments used in the data collection process were the interview applied to three teachers, the survey conducted with parents, and the observation form to children from 4 to 5 years old. The results showed deficiencies in the acquisition of fine motor skills, mainly in the aspects of eye-hand coordination and in the development of grasping with the digital pincer, which is a concern because they represent the basis for learning to write. Therefore, they need to be constantly stimulated dynamically and creatively in the development of their fine motor skills related to eye-hand coordination and in the development of the digital pincer through painting.
