Resumen : En el presente proyecto de investigación se orientó al estudio de plantas comercializadas en los mercados de la ciudad de Latacunga, Provincia Cotopaxi donde se pudo documentar el conocimiento intangible y memorias colectivas que las comerciantes de los mercados de “El Salto”, “La Merced” y Mercado “Mayorista”. Los objetivos planteados en el proyecto de investigación fueron describir el origen del uso de las plantas, mediante revisión bibliográfica y de campo, donde a través de encuestas las comerciantes coincidieron en que fue por tradición familiar que obtuvieron los conocimientos. Se concretó que el uso de plantas con fines medicinales tiene mucha historia y se ha dado desde tiempos inmemorables, aunque lamentablemente hoy en día, no tiene mucha importancia. En las salidas exploratorias se recolectaron las especies de los mercados y fueron identificadas y procesadas para depositarlas en el herbario de botánica aplicada de la Universidad Técnica de Cotopaxi (UTCEC). Se registraron 41 familias botánicas y 158 especies, las familias más utilizadas fueron Asteraceae con 14 usos, Lamiaceae con 11 usos, Fabaceae y Amaranthaceae con 5 usos, Poaceae con 4 usos y las restantes familias de 3 a 1 uso. Los usos se agruparon en campos como afecciones generales, aparato digestivo, aparato respiratorio, belleza estética, enfermedades específicas, heridas externas, órganos reproductores, sistemas circulatorio, nervioso y urinario, finalmente trastornos del sueño. Los campos sobre los usos que tuvieron mayor relevancia dentro de los mercados fueron afecciones generales, tales como curar el mal aire, reducir el estrés, dolores de cabeza, aparato digestivo, tales como dolores estomacales, inflamación de riñones, aparato respiratorio, como tratamiento para quitar la tos, gripes, resfriados y sistema circulatorio, sobre todo para problemas del corazón y para la presión arterial. Se elaboró una guía etnobotánica con las familias y especies más vendidas en los mercados, que incluye también nombre científico, nombre común, uso medicinal, origen y distribución y muestra testigo de la colección botánica.
Descripción : In the present research project, the study of plants marketed in the markets of the city of Latacunga, Cotopaxi Province where intangible knowledge and collective memories could be documented that traders in the markets of "El Leap", "La Merced" and "Wholesale" Market. The objectives set out in the research project were to describe the origin of the use of the plants, by bibliographic and field review, where through surveys the traders agreed that it was by family tradition that they obtained the Knowledge. It was concrete that the use of plants for medicinal purposes has a lot of history and has occurred since time immemorial, although unfortunately today, it is not very important. In the exploratory exits the species of the markets were collected and identified and processed to deposit them in the herbal is applied to the Technical University of Cotopaxi (UTCEC). 41 botanical families and 158 species were recorded, the most commonly used families were Asteraceae with 14 uses, Lamiaceae with 11 uses, Fabaceae and Amaranthaceae with 5 uses, Poaceae with 4 uses and the remaining families of 3 to 1 use. Uses were grouped into fields such as general conditions, digestive system, respiratory system, aesthetic beauty, specific diseases, external wounds, reproductive organs, circulatory, nervous and urinary systems, finally disorders of the Dream. The fields on uses that were most relevant within the markets were general conditions, such as curing bad air, reducing stress, headaches, digestive system, such as stomach pains, inflammation of the kidneys, kidney system treatment to remove cough, flu, colds and circulatory system, especially for heart problems and blood pressure. An ethnobotanical guide was developed with the best-selling families and species in the markets, which also includes scientific name, common name, medicinal use, origin and distribution and witness show of the botanical collection.
