    One of the problems that Ecuador faces as an underdeveloped country is the permanent deterioration of the quality of education. The educational problem has deserved the attention of specialized writers, teachers and parents. However, the lack of attention that it has received from the State is evident; in this research work, we examine very clearly the relationship of education with the State, the deterioration of the quality of education as a consequence of dependence and the application of policies imposed by international creditor organizations such as the IMF. As a measure to overcome the education crisis, the rulers have proposed a series of “reforms to the educational system” but in practice they have remained in lyrical declarations; This is precisely what the last Curricular Reform implemented in 1996 has become. The results of the research clearly demonstrate that the aforementioned reform has not been applied or known in its entirety, since the emphasis it proposes on teacher training to change the evaluation process has not been fulfilled either.
