This research focused on evaluating the economic weights in the selection of productive key traits within a dairy cattle breeding program, due to the insufficient data recording leading to low sustainability, It was conducted in the Pastocalle parish at an altitude of 3197 masl, with population of 96 cattle belonging to 8 producers. A phenotypic value was established for the following traits: milk production, with an average of 3030.28 liters over a standard period of 305 days, along with an average of 144 days for extended lactations; milk density, which reached a value of 1.025 g/cm³; daily weight gain, both in calves (136.56 g) and heifers (112.5 g); and height at the withers, with an average of 128.04 cm. Economic analyses demonstrated a range of benefits per liter of milk varying from 30 to 12 cents, this value indicates an efficient cost structure; however, both open days, milk production, milk density, and weight gain show a low margin, which suggests the importance of implementing management practices and genetic strategies in the área.
