The methodology adopted is quantitative and descriptive, using a non-experimental and cross-sectional design. Structured surveys were employed to collect data from entrepreneurs in Latacunga, with questions designed to evaluate various aspects of entrepreneurship, such as motivations, challenges, and local economic conditions. The study population included registered entrepreneurs, with samples selected based on non-probabilistic sampling. The results revealed that personal motivation is a key factor in entrepreneurship, with an average score of 4.56 on the scale used. Other important factors include the challenges faced by entrepreneurs, with an average of 4.05, and local economic conditions, with an average of 4.12. Among the main obstacles identified are financial barriers and regulatory complications, which negatively impact the sustainability of businesses. The study also revealed a significant correlation between entrepreneurs' motivation and their ability to face challenges and leverage local economic conditions, suggesting that those with higher personal motivation tend to overcome financial and regulatory barriers more effectively. The specific correlation figures show a coefficient of 0.67, indicating a moderate relationship between these factors. The survey also provided data on entrepreneurs' perceptions regarding their ability to sustain their businesses in the face of difficulties, with 85.66% of respondents stating they feel capable of maintaining their companies despite the challenges. The research concludes that it is crucial to offer greater support to entrepreneurs through public policies and training programs to address the identified challenges and foster a more dynamic and sustainable business environment in Latacunga.
