- ItemEstudio de la resistencia antibiótica de los agentes bacterianos en cuyes en las granjas en la provincia de Cotopaxi.(Ecuador: Latacunga: Universidad Técnica de Cotopaxi (UTC)., 2024-08) Fuentala Veloz, Jennifer Vanessa; Herrera Yunga, Vanessa del RosarioCavibacter spp., Staphylococcus spp., Actinomyces, Streptococcus spp., Trueperella spp., Bacillus spp., Escherichia coli, Salmonella spp., Klebsiella spp., Proteus spp.) present in guinea pigs in farms of Cotopaxi province, in the cantons of Pujilí, Saquisilí, and Latacunga. It was performed on biochemically identified culture samples, three passes were made to purify the samples, the Kirby-Bauer technique was used on isolates, and the results were interpreted according to CLSI (Clinical & Laboratory Standards Institute) standards. For bacterial seeding, 0.9% NaCl and Muller Hinton II agar were used. The results with the highest sensitivity percentage of 100 % were Ceftriaxone (4/4), and Ciprofloxacin (7/7), Fosfomycin+Trometamol (51/55) 93%, Sulfamethoxazole+Trimethoprim (53/63) 84%, Florfenicol (13/16) 81%, Gentamicin (51/64) 80%, Fosfomycin (28/37) 76%, Norfloxacin (26/35) 74%, Enrofloxacin (46/68) 68%, Oxytetracycline (35/56) and Tetracycline (10/16) 63%, Cefotaxime (3/7) 43%, and Ceftazidime (4/11) 36%. In intermediate sensitivity, Oxytetracycline has higher percentage with 18% (10/56), Cefotaxime (1/7) 14%, Enrofloxacin (7/68) 10%, Gentamicin (5/64) 8%, Norfloxacin (2/35) and Sulfamethoxazole+Trimethoprim (4/63) 6%, and Fosfomycin (2/37) 5%. Resistant antibiotics with 100% were Cephalexin (2/2) and Penicillin G (14/14), Amoxicillin (5/6) 83%, Ceftazidime (7/11) 64%, Cefotaxime (3/7) 43%, Tetracycline (6/16) 38%, Enrofloxacin (15/68), Norfloxacin (7/35) and Oxytetracycline (11/56) with 20%, Florfenicol (3/16) and Fosfomycin (7/37) 19%, Gentamicin (8/64) 12%, Sulfamethoxazole+Trimethoprim (6/63) 10%, Fosfomycin+Tromethamol (4/55) 7%. In conclusion, it is observed that there is high resistance to Penicillin G and Cephalexin, while the most sensitive antibiotics to treat the animals in the farms under study are Ceftriaxone and Ciprofloxacin.
