    Due to the great importance of human capital, it is necessary to protect workers within companies, however there are dangerous conditions that compromise the humanization of work, since in each of the processes and jobs they face risks that they have caused accidents; Many of these are related to communication, either because it does not exist, it is not adequate, or it is insufficient. Knowledge of the problem allowed the identification and evaluation of risks in order to adopt "preventive measures" aimed at minimizing the occurrence of occupational accidents. The project relied on descriptive field research, and on the selection of data collection methods and techniques, complemented by documentary and bibliographic research that allowed to build the theoretical foundation. This methodology revealed the reality of the company, such as the absence of plans and programs for prevention and technical management, which facilitated the design of prevention strategies through a "Communication Plan", which, when socialized and applied, will contribute in the reduction of work accidents. The proposal for the design of a "Communication Plan for the prevention of occupational accidents" will lead people towards a preventive culture, taking advantage of the advantages of communication, making efficient use of print, sound and audiovisual media. This proposal is important, because it will not only help the company "Palmeras de los Cien SA" - Quinindé, the place where the research was carried out: if not, it will also benefit all companies dedicated to oil extraction that present problems Similar.
