    Optimización del proceso de reposición de agua blanda para los sistemas de enfriamiento de las líneas de producción de la planta de soldadura de la Empresa Ciudad del Auto Cía. Ltda.

    This research aims to optimize the soft water replenishment process used in the cooling system of the production lines at the welding plant of Ciudad del Auto Cía. Ltda., located in Ambato. Currently, soft water replenishment is carried out manually, relying on internal and external water tankers. Replenishment occurs approximately every two weeks and lacks an automatic tank level control system. This situation results in prolonged replenishment times, dependence on operational personnel, and logistical limitations associated with the transport and supply of the resource, highlighting the need to improve the process through the automation of the cooling line. To address this problem, a diagnostic assessment of the current process was conducted through direct observation, gathering of technical information, and recording of operating times. Subsequently, an automation proposal using a pumping system was designed. Finally, the economic evaluation of the proposal determined that the implementation of the automated system is viable for the company, considering an initial investment of USD 4,400.00, an estimated annual benefit of USD 2,825.83, and a benefit/cost ratio of 2.47. Furthermore, the investment recovery period is estimated at approximately 1 year and 5 months, demonstrating that the proposal can generate economic benefits and contribute to reducing the costs associated with the current soft water replenishment process.
