The project main objective is to improve the efficiency of solid waste management by implementing advanced technologies. The proposed system integrates proximity sensors and real-time communication technology, such as LoRaWAN and IoT, to status monitor of waste containers. This solution enables accurate optimization of collection routes, based on real-time data on container fill level. It is developed in three key phases: collection of real-time communications information, creation of a data management and visualization system, and development of an advanced communication platform. The first phase involves detailed study of technologies and data transmission methods, providing a solid basis for system implementation. The second phase focuses on the creation of a tool that enables efficient planning of collection routes, reducing costs and improving operations. The third phase consists of communication platform development that ensures continuous data transmission and facilitates a rapid response to emerging problems. The system effectiveness in optimizing routes and reducing operating costs is highlighted. The implementation of the real-time communication platform has proven to be crucial for efficient monitoring and waste management. It is recommended to conduct continuous staff training, establish a technical support team and gradually expand the use of advanced technologies to maximize system benefits. This integrated approach promises more efficient, sustainable and tailored waste management for EPAGAL.
