- ItemDiseño y construcción de dos agitadores mezcladores para el laboratorio de suelos y aguas de la facultad de CAREN(Ecuador: Latacunag: Universidad Técnica de Cotopaxi (UTC), 2024-10) León Ganchala, Jhon Henry; Albarracín Álvarez, Mauro DaríoThe present technological proposal was developed with the purpose of avoiding human physical effort held during the agitation and mixing process in soil analytical tests in the Soil and Water laboratory of the CAREN Faculty of the Technical University of Cotopaxi, Salache campus. Two mixing agitators were implemented for this laboratory that operates continuously with a constant speed, thus improving the stirring and mixing process. In this sense, the first of them holds its process through a circular movement concerning a horizontal axis with the capacity to shake 12 test tubes with soil samples at the same time, at a speed requested by the researcher of 45 revolutions per minute. The material of the selected axis, the fundamental element that will transmit the movement, was AISI-SAE 1018 steel due to its mechanical properties, good ductility, and high toughness, suitable for the manufacture of machinery parts, coupled to a ¼ HP motor with a 1/4 HP reduction box of 45 revolutions/minute. The second machine consists of a platform with orbital rotation in which, the operator can select the rotation speed from 20 to 200 revolutions/minute through a motor speed control circuit and projected onto a screen to display the rotation speed according to the test requirement. This technological application improves the analytical practices of the laboratory and increases the number of samples for the determination of the physical and chemical properties of the soil study.
