It is a highly contagious disease that affects domestic cats of any age, although its incidence is highest in its juvenile stage. However, Early diagnosis and timely treatment improve the cat's quality of life. The objective of the research is to determine the prevalence of Feline Leukemia in domestic cats (Felis silvestris catus) in Zumbahua Province of Cotopaxi during the period 2023-2024. Regarding the methodology of the data collection process, it was carried out through a survey applied to 54 owners of the parish cats carried out in three areas: urban, peri-urban and rural; At the same time, the technique of direct observation was applied, through the application of Senspert diagnostic test kits from the VetAll laboratory that detect the Feline Leukemia virus. The results obtained reveal that in the urban area there is a prevalence of 11% of the disease, in the peri-urban area a prevalence of 3% and in the rural area a prevalence of 1%. Regarding the results of the survey of the owners of the felines sampled and the Chi-square test, they reveal that there are no significant differences when evaluating risk factors such as breed, diet, sterilization, sex, age, deworming, showing no relationship. with the positive cases detected; Therefore, the null hypothesis is accepted, meaning what; There is no prevalence of feline leukemia in domestic cats in the Zumbahua parish of the Pujilí canton.
