- Item“Evalución del comportamiento de la lechuga crespa (Lactuca sativa L.) de hoja morada en suelos erosionados con 4 mulch orgánicos en Salache, Latacunga, Cotopaxi 2024”.(Ecuador : Latacunga : Universidad Técnica de Cotopaxi (UTC), 2024-08) Moreno Moreno, Marlon Hernan; López Castillo, Guadalupe De Las MercedesThe research was conducted with the aim of recovering and conserving soils. The behavior of purple-leafed curly lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) was evaluated in eroded soils using four organic mulches in Salache, Latacunga, Cotopaxi. A Completely Randomized Block Design (CRBD) was applied with 5 treatments and 5 repetitions, totaling 25 experimental units. The results determined that T4 (hay) was the most effective based on indicators such as: number of adapted seedlings (91.9%); plant height (11.96 cm); diameter (16.7 cm); number of leaves (22); harvest weight per plot (86.04 kg); in weeds, diversity (0.41) and dominance (0.42); in soil physical characteristics, temperature (21.54 °C); moisture (63.38 g/m³); in soil chemical characteristics, pH (9.05); organic matter (0.46); phosphorus P (12.79 ppm); nitrogen N (10.10); in T3 (rice husk) potassium K (2.98 meq/100g); calcium Ca (21.83 meq/100g), and in T2 (sigse) magnesium Mg (3.26 meq/100g); organic matter (1.20). In biological characteristics, the presence of pathogenic, beneficial, and saprophytic microorganisms was observed. Finally, the best cost-benefit ratio was achieved with T4 (hay), with a value of ($0.67), making it a viable alternative for farmers in soil conservation, as it adapts efficiently to the cultivation of purple lettuce.
