- Item“El Cuento como estrategia metodológica para la Lectura”(Ecuador : Pujilí : Universidad Técnica de Cotopaxi (UTC), 2024) Chasi Angulo, Joel José; Nelly Narcisa, Correa CanteralStories are a powerful tool for education, since, through simple and attractive narratives, the development of reading is encouraged, in addition, they help to improve cognitive, emotional and social skills, therefore, this research is focused on recognizing how important a story can be in the educational environment, the objective was to analyze how stories can be used effectively to strengthen reading skills in students in the fourth year of General Basic Education parallel “B” of the Educational Unit “Belisario Quevedo”. The methodology had a qualitative approach, in which both documentary and field research were applied, together with the non-experimental design and the inductive method, as for the collection of information, the technique of observation and interview was used, accompanied by their corresponding instruments, the observation guide and the interview guide, which were applied to the 34 students and the tutor teacher of the fourth year parallel “B”. The results of the research showed that stories are a fundamental tool in the educational field, capturing the interest of students and facilitating the acquisition of critical skills. This strategy not only offers multiple educational benefits, but also personal benefits, contributing to the integral development of the students, in particular, it was observed that the tutor teacher uses stories to promote reading habits and improve reading comprehension, which demonstrates its effectiveness in the classroom, in addition, stories are valuable for teaching, since they allow the cultivation of essential human values such as respect and tolerance. As part of this research, a proposal was developed based on the creation of attractive stories to capture children's attention. These stories, with striking images and exciting stories, not only enhance the reading experience, but also stimulate imagination and creativity, introducing children to the fascinating world of reading.
