    Determinación de IBR en ganado de lidia, Virgen del Rocío en el sector Igllagua alto de la provincia de Cotopaxi.

    The study was conducted with the aim of determining the presence of a viral disease known as Infectious Bovine Rhinotracheitis (IBR). The research project was focused on a cattle ranch of lidia bulls called Virgen del Rocio which is located in Cotopaxi province, Latacunga city, Juan Montalvo parish, in the Igllagua Alto neighborhood. With the amount of 18 heads of cattle that have a Juan Pedro Domecq encaste. A blood sample was taken in the coccygeal vein, obtaining a volume of 5ml, samples that were transported in red cap test tubes in cold chain, these were analyzed in a diagnostic clinical veterinary laboratory located in Machachi city it is called Animalab which is offering Elisa tests with 95% of sensitivity and 92% of specificity with confidence intervals of 16% to 61%, obtaining positive results in 7 specimens giving us a prevalence of 38.8%, identifying that the low biosecurity in the moors where the animals are developed in freedom, generate various risk factors and high rate of infection. With these results a bibliographic study of the disease characteristic and its prevention was made, to suggest a specific vaccine plan for the territory, recommending the protocols application, which help us to combat this and other diseases, without having adverse reactions that damage the health of the animal.
