- ItemDiseño de una matriz de sección circular sólida para una máquina prototipo extrusora de plástico.(Ecuador: Latacunga: Universidad Técnica de Cotopaxi (UTC), 2024-08) Ortega Rodriguez, Christian Genaro; Proaño Manobanda, Juan Daniel; Reinoso Peñaherrera, Héctor RaúlThe present work systematizes, through an experimental methodology, the design of solid circular section dies for a prototype plastic extruder machine. The central purpose of the study is to design a die considering the die variables: geometry, extrusion speed, among others) as well as the production process variables (production capacity, zone temperature, etc.) to facilitate the extrusion process. That is why the final quality of the extrusion product is not considered in the study since, being an experimental process, it is focused on determining the most suitable internal geometry to make fluidity, and pressure lifting at the breakthrough stage. The results of the different tests are carried out in dies with varying numbers of nozzles and various outlet diameters since the expansion at the outlet of the extruded material, the surface quality of the die, the subsequent cooling system, and the properties of the plastic material in the extrusion process are not considered. The design of the dies in the breaking zone was analyzed with different material inlet conicity angles where the following are taken into consideration: 1) the inlet angle of 0°, which does not allow the generation of internal pressure; 2) the inlet angle of 45°, that allows the lifting of pressure and material flow to allow the exit of the material in dies with 1 and 2 mouths. Finally, it is anticipated that the analyses of this research will further advance the design of dies for plastic extrusion by providing a solid foundation for future research and applications.
