- ItemGestión estratégica y la competitividad en la empresa Automecano del Sur(Universidad Técnica de Cotopaxi (UTC). Ciencias Administrativas y Económicas. Administración de Empresas, 2026-08-17) Sánchez Sánchez, Lizeth Carolina; Falconi Tapia, Angelita AzucenaThe purpose of this research was to analyze the impact of strategic management on the competitiveness of the company Automecano del Sur, located in the city of Latacunga, with the aim of identifying opportunities for business improvement. The study originated from a situation characterized by the absence of formal strategic planning, a lack of standardization in administrative processes, and limited application of marketing strategies. Methodologically, the study was conducted using a mixed-methods approach, with a descriptive scope, employing inductive and analytical methods, and utilizing three data collection instruments: a structured survey of staff, a survey of the most frequent customers, and a semi-structured interview with the owner. To strengthen the validity and reliability of the diagnosis. The results determined that the company’s competitiveness is based on operational strengths, the technical quality of its staff, personalized service, adequate delivery times, and affordable prices, while its main weakness lies in the absence of formal strategic direction, as evidenced by a lack of documented planning, a limited digital presence, and the absence of standardized internal processes— findings that were consistent across the three sources consulted. As its primary contribution, the research presents a proposal for improvement strategies regarding the strategic management of the company Automecano del Sur, developed based on a diagnosis of the current situation and an analysis of the results obtained. This proposal provides guidelines for managerial decision-making aimed at strengthening the SME's competitiveness, profitability, and sustainability, thereby contributing to economic development and job creation in Latacunga
