(Ecuador: Latacunga: Universidad Técnica de Cotopaxi: (UTC), 2024-08) Simba Tipantuña. Oscar Andres; Tiban Toapanta, Viviana Lizbeth; Eugenio Pilliza, Cristian Iván
Industrial World, a company dedicated to the design, construction, assembly, and mechanical maintenance, it is located in Latacunga, Cotopaxi province. Currently, it faces a series of challenges due to its manual inventory management system. This methodology generates several issues, such as a lack of control over the movement of raw materials and consumables. The purpose of this study is to design a registration and control system for Industrial World through adequate management of existing items. This system will allow to carry out an automated and accurate inventory count, as well as monitoring and managing the entry and exit of products, with the aim of establishing effective inventory control. To address this issue, several methodologies were implemented. First, existing items were identified and grouped by families. Then, the ABC classification was applied, prioritizing those with the highest investment. Additionally, the EOQ model, safety stock, and reorder point were employed. Finally, an automated inventory management system was created in AppSheet, which will allow to carry out various operations, such as register the movement of accessories in the inventory, conduct inventory counts, and control and track stock replenishment. In summary, the data collection, the methods implemented, and the system created in AppSheet ensure a constant availability, as well as more efficient tracking and control, thus preventing unnecessary losses, stockouts, and overstocking.
