The objective of this research is to demonstrate that continuous training and the development of teaching skills in the educational process allows for the attainment of new knowledge and better performance in teaching activities at the “Delia Ibarra de Velasco” and “Gral. Policía Jorge Poveda” Educational Units of the Pujilí Canton and the Saquisilí Canton respectively. The methodology was based on the qualitative-quantitative approach together with the use of the scientific method, of a comparative, descriptive and field type. On the other hand, for the study of the variables, instruments such as the interview guide and the survey form addressed to the authorities, teachers and students of Higher Basic Education and High School of the two public and private institutions were used, whose information and data were interpreted, graphed, compared and with their respective analysis. The results demonstrated the need for ongoing training for teachers to strengthen the teaching-learning process. This means that the ongoing preparation of teachers must be a set of complete knowledge and skills that allow them to adequately perform the functions required by their profession. In addition, as researchers, we confirm that teachers in public institutions have greater opportunities for training, while in private institutions the opportunities are few, which implies an economic expense. Finally, in relation to the project, its proposal is described, which consists of promoting a seminar in the basic areas: Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, Language and Literature, Mathematics and Technology applied to education based on a schedule within the pedagogical hours and for each quarter, allowing teachers from both institutions to participate.
