- Item“Gestión de inventarios para la toma de decisiones gerenciales aplicada a la empresa Distribuidora de Calzado Alexito”(Ecuador : Latacunga : Universidad Técnica de Cotopaxi (UTC), 2024-08) Vega Vega, Aida Celinda; Faz Cevallos, Wilson EduardoThis integrator project addresses inventory management and its impact on managerial decision making at the Alexito Footwear Distributor, with the objective of identifying and correcting deficiencies in inventory control to improve operational efficiency. The relevant theoretical bases were reviewed, including the Just in Time (JIT) methods, the ABC method and the EOQ (Economic Order Quantity) model for inventory control, and their interrelation in areas such as accounting and administration. A quantitative methodology was used using data analysis collected through an interview with the owner manager, accountant, and the warehouse manager to identify current problems, such as the lack of precision in inventory records and the difficulty in responding to demand. The discussion of the results revealed that the dependence on manual methods and the lack of a method caused significant inefficiencies, affecting accuracy and adaptability to demand. The ABC method was implemented as a solution, allowing products to be classified according to their value and turnover, which optimized resource allocation and inventory control. The implementation of the ABC method improved operational efficiency, reduced costs and strengthened data-driven decision-making, thereby increasing the company's profitability and competitiveness. Investing in technology to automate inventory management and in staff training, ensuring the adoption of best practices and efficient management aligned with the company's current needs.
