    El incremento de precios de insumos agrícolas y su incidencia en la producción de los productores bananeros en el cantón La Maná, provincia Cotopaxi, año 2024.

    To La Maná, a study was conducted during 2024 to examine the effect of rising agricultural input prices on banana production. The main objective was to understand how the increase in agricultural input costs affects the production and profits of banana producers in the region. To this end, a mixed quantitative and qualitative approach was applied, existing literature on the subject was reviewed, a representative sample of 100 banana producers was surveyed, and in-depth interviews were conducted to obtain detailed information on their experiences and perspectives. The study found a significant negative relationship between the increase in agricultural input prices and banana production to La Maná canton, with a correlation value (-0.78) indicating a strong negative relationship between the variables. This means that the increase in agricultural input costs has a negative impact on banana production, generating a reduction in yields and profitability of producers. Based on these findings, it is concluded that the increase in agricultural input prices negatively affects banana production to La Maná. It is crucial that local authorities and agricultural organizations take measures to mitigate the impact of this situation on banana producers. Some recommended measures include: subsidies or support programs, training and technical assistance, search for new markets, and strengthening of trade organizations. Future research is recommended to further analyze the impact of price increases in agricultural inputs on the profitability and quality of life of banana producers to La Maná.
