- ItemDeterminación del potencial interpretativo de los recursos en los sitios de excursionismo del cantón Saquisilí, provincia de Cotopaxi.(Ecuador: Latacunga: Universidad Técnica de Cotopaxi (UTC)., 2024-08) Velozo Velozo, Wendy Estefania.; Álvarez Lema, Freddy AnaximandroThe present research project is of a transversal type, qualitative approach and descriptive level applied in the Saquisili canton, it was carried out with the objective of determining the interpretative potential of resources within hiking sites in the area under study, part of the problem detected as lack of knowledge about natural resources and hiking, after defining the direct and indirect actors of the tourist activity, using the snowball technique with five actors that contribute to the research, five hiking sites are identified in the different parishes of the canton, with the Morales methodology the technical evaluation sheet of the interpretive potential index (IPI) that has three sections identification of the resource, interpretive condition and characterization of the resource for the use of public spaces, with direct observation in the field trips the results obtained in the evaluation, locating in the scale of High (A) is determined two sites Cerro Sagrado Wingopana with 0, 66 % and Fuentes de Agua Mineral 0,64% both with scale High (A) and being the Cascada Candela Fazo 0,58 % in scale medium high (mA) of lower score, with the application KoboToolbox geographical points were collected for the design of maps with QGIS where the route with the different evaluated resources is stated that the resources have the ideal features to be interpreted and that call the attention of the hiker; in the definition of the target market with 385 surveys applied to groups of hikers, including demographic, socioeconomic, preference and evaluation variables, 25 closed-ended and option questions multiple it is concluded that there is greater movement of local and national hikers, in the modality of adventure tourism being camping, climbing and hiking the most required activities, it is taken into consideration the questions about if they practice hiking, frequency and regularity the results to this allow to apply the formula of the target market arriving at the amount of 6,936 hikers per year. The information obtained will serve as a data base so that tourism stakeholders, together with the authorities, can design sustainable tourism projects in favor of the use of public spaces and their resources.
