“Evaluación de un extracto de algas marinas en etapa de floración y producción de dos variedades de arándanos (vaccinium corymbosum) biloxi y emerald cantón Ambato, 2023-2024”
(Ecuador : Latacunga : Universidad Técnica de Cotopaxi (UTC), 2024-08) Yanza Calva, Jorge Bryan; Jácome Mogro, Emerson Javier
This study was carried out in the Tungurahua province, Ambato canton, Montalvo parish, to assess the seaweed extract (Green Marine Powder) impact on the flowering and production of blueberries (Vaccinium corymbosum L., varieties Biloxi and Emerald) in a 8 month crop with 108 plants. It was applied extract different doses during the flowering and production stages, it is using an experimental design, (DBCA) with a factorial arrangement of a x b, which included 6 treatments: T1 (Variety 1 + Dose 1, 0 g); T2 (Variety 1 + Dose 2, 0.25 g); T3 (Variety 1 + Dose 3, 0.75 g); T4 (Variety 2 + Dose 1, 0 g); T5 (Variety 2 + Dose 2, 0.25 g); T6 (Variety 2 + Dose 3, 0.75 g), with three replicates per variety. The results showed a significant increase in flowering and yield indicators for the Biloxi variety at dose 3 (0.75 g/litre). The Emerald variety also showed a considerable improvement in flowering and production with the same dose application. The assessed variables were: floral branches number, floral buds’ number, flowers number, fruit set percentage and fresh fruit duration on the perch. The results showed, what the Biloxi variety with the dose of 0.75 g/liter (dose 3) had the best yield in floral branches (7.28) number, floral buds (37.95), flowers (194.78) and fruit set percentage. The Emerald variety with the same dose (0.75 g/liter) presented a fresh fruit longer duration on the perch (19.17 days). However, the Biloxi variety generally showed a fresh fruit longer total duration on the perch compared to the control group plants (dose 1), which did not show significant improvements in flowering and production.
