- ItemComportamiento de musáceas a la infección natural de sigatoka negra (Mycosphaerella fijiensis) durante su primer ciclo de producción.(Ecuador : La Maná Universidad Técnica de Cotopaxi (UTC), 2024-08) Sánchez Coello, Ronald Fabián; Zamora Bacilio, Edison Estuardo; Espinosa Cunuhay, Kleber AugustoThe study was carried out at the "Sacha Wiwa" Experimental Center of the Guasaganda parish, La Maná canton, Cotopaxi province. The present investigation focuses on the behavior of musaceae cultivars to the natural infection of black Sigatoka (Mycosphaerella fijiensis), during its first production cycle in a collection of musaceae, a randomized complete block design was used with 8 treatments and 10 plants per variety under study, making up a total of 80 experimental units. Morphological variables were evaluated: Number of functional leaves at flowering, number of functional leaves at harvest, Functional leaf area at flowering (m2), Functional leaf area at harvest (m2), Black Sigatoka infection index, youngest leaf to present disease streaks, youngest leaf to present disease burning, pseudostem perimeter (cm), fruit diameter, bunch weight (kg), Number of hands per bunch. The results reveal that the Orito variety has a higher degree of resistance to black Sigatoka infection, since it presented a lower degree of foliar damage on leaf 3, 4, 5, according to the Stotr scale and in the Barraganete variety it presents a susceptibility since it presented a higher degree of foliar damage on leaf 3, 4, 5 given the climatic conditions typical of the area of the Guasaganda parish.
