- ItemAudiovisual material design methodology based on the book Cradle Project ´Our world through English´ for English language teaching for students in the third year of basic education Education Unit San José La Salle / (Registro nro. 2054)(Ecuador: Latacunga: Universidad Técnica de Cotopaxi:( UTC), 2007-08-27) Toscano Borja, Santiago Xavier; Cueva, MarthaThe development of communication skills, using English as a foreign language, represented a climactic problem in the educational environment at "Educational Unit San Jose La Salle." The failings of the institution and the dissent between docents and students became more noticeable with each day, given the total lack of practical language application in real situations. It was sought then to verify the achievement of domination of the four English language skills (reading, writing, listening, speaking) through the application and utilization of audiovisual material. For this reason, the primary research objective consisted in evaluating the different levels of student progress in the development of the aforementioned English language skills by way of designing audiovisual material based on the methodology of the Project Book CRADLE "OUR WORLD THROUGH ENGLISH for third year of Basic Education with the ultimate goal of standardizing the didactic processes. In order to achieve this objective, the proposal was supported in a qualitative investigation, given that it focuses a real problem that affects a social group and is founded in guideline questions. The enforceability and functionality of the methods and techniques that were employed, allowed to obtain a knowledge of the real situation supported by a theoretical basis, the same also being based on bibliographical sources. The validity and dependability of such were determined under the support of the applied instruments with the assurance of increasing subject interest in administration, teaching staff, and students alike. This result serves as a basis for future projects and applications of this research in other Ecuadorian educational institutions, given that it represents a contribution with the potential to elevate the quality of education found in "Educational Unit San Jose La Salle," of the city of Latacunga.

En tal virtud se creyó conveniente realizar el presente trabajo. El objetivo de esta investigación es el de dotar a los maestros y estudiantes de una herramienta que permita desarrollar las destrezas productivas y receptivas del idioma Inglés, mediante la elaboración de una Guía que permita alcanzar conocimientos críticos y reflexivos. El presente trabajo consta de contenidos científicos relacionados con los métodos y técnicas de aprendizaje y que pueden ser aplicados en la enseñanza del inglés Además se realiza el análisis de los resultados obtenidos con la aplicación de las encuestas y entrevistas, por medio de cuadros de tabulaciones y representaciones estadísticas para, sobre la base los mismos establecer las respectivas conclusiones y recomendaciones. Los antecedentes, características y objetivos demuestran la factibilidad de ejecución del proyecto. El tipo de investigación utilizada en el presente trabajo es de forma bibliográfica y documental, exploratoria, descriptiva para lo cual utilizamos el método deductivo y científico. Sobre la base de los resultados anteriormente indicados y con el afán de mejorar la calidad de la educación ecuatoriana, el grupo de investigadoras presenta una GUÍA DE ESTRATEGIAS ALTERNATIVAS BASADAS EN EL ENFOQUE HISTÓRICO - CULTURAL QUE PERMITAN MEJORAR LA ENSEÑANZA APRENDIZAJE DEL IDIOMA INGLÉS".

With the evolution of the Science and technology, teachers began to use different types of extra materials called audio visual aids to get a direct improvement in teaching-learning process of a foreign language, especially English to reach standards of quality. Education is the science and art where ideas, skills and techniques are developed on the human beings and they constitute the basic propeller for the development to get good results inside the personal and family level, overcoming the differences that society has imposed. Due to the necessities and taking profit the advance of science and technology, a multimedia laboratory is proposed in this work. The laboratory will serve as a new active and participative technique to improve the English teaching-leaming process in the Ecuadorian professional training service The main objective is to improve the levels of language acquisition and interaction between the student and the teacher by means of using different materials such as videos, CDs, programs in English where some kinds of exercise about pronunciation, reading, writing, and listening are carried out. This is important because the students are active permanently and ready to interact with the computer, increasing their participation during classes. So leaming will be relevant.

The theoretical foundation of the investigation was based on the cultural historical focus in which the learning becomes a social activity. They were also applied as technical of investigation surveys directed to the students, as well as you interview to the educational of the Center of Languages. With those results it was determined that the module at the moment employee doesn't fulfill the mission of the UTC, of forming the cultural identity in the student, since the module approaches information it has more than enough customs of North America. The module designed by the investigators contains activities related with the four abilities, space to develop the writing, vocabulary with its respective definition, grammar of easy assimilation, without forgetting the presentation of graphic full color that it motivate the reader. The module presented a CD with all the listening activities approached in each unit.
- ItemUsing tales and songs in the teaching learning process in children of first and second year of basic education to fortify the study in the english languaje learning at ´General Quisquis´ School during the period 2011 - 2012 (Registro nro. 9873)(Ecuador: Latacunga: Universidad Técnica de Cotopaxi:( UTC), 2014-12) Flores Toapanta, Clara Guadalupe; Castro Bungacho, Sonia JimenaThis investigative research had as purpose to improve the TeachingLearning Process in the children of first and second year of Basic Education at "General Quis - Quis" using tales and songs in English in order to fortify the learning in this second language. The principal objective of this research is that children get a significant learning through the correct use of tales and songs in English taking into account the students' characteristics at that age and in the formal context of the classroom. Using tales and songs in English is the way to make them practice vocabulary and grammar in the meaningful context provided with the story or song. In addition to this, children do the activities autonomously so that cooperation among pupils is promoted and children learn to learn for themselves. After to apply the surveys to parents of the "General QuisQuis" school, who considered so essential the use of new techniques like tales and songs in English, the research found as a result that is very important to use new methods like listening songs and tales through games, or another way that allow to share with children the significant knowledge based on the content because children are attracted by the colors and drawings of any book or pamphlet, and even more so if it is used as a technological material, data show and laptops, where they can see for themselves the activities based on animations and songs. For this reason, the correct use of tales and songs in English is so vital for developing the wanted skills in children much better if they are so young.
