Abstract
Las Normas Ecuatorianas de Contabilidad (NEC) fueron reemplazadas obligatoriamente por las Normas Internacionales de Información Financiera (NIIF), esto se debe al proceso global que se está siguiendo en otros países. La Cooperativa de Ahorro y Crédito Lideres del Progreso se encuentra en la necesidad de acoger este esquema de reporte financiero ya que fue oportuno investigar la aplicación de un nuevo lenguaje contable y ofrecer una guía a Gerencia y al Departamento Contable, para la convergencia de sus estados financieros. Durante el proceso de la investigación se aplicaron varios instrumentos para la recopilación de los datos para establecer las NIIF aplicables a la institución, se ofreció una guía esencial para la implementación de las NIIF de forma sencilla y comprensible en la Cooperativa, siendo de gran utilidad para los propietarios y administradores de la institución.

Cooperative of savings and credit Líderes Del Progreso is the need to accommodate this scheme of financial reporting by what was appropriate to management and the Accounting Department, for the convergence of its financial statements. During the research process applied several instruments for the collection of data to establish the IFRS applicable to the institution, which offered an essential guide for the implementation of IFRS applicable to the institution, which offered an essential guide for the implementation of IFRS in a simple and understandable in the cooperative, being of great utility to the owners and managers of the institution.
