- ItemRetención de trabajadores de alto potencial en la empresa Novocentro Salcedo-Latacunga(Ecuador: Latacunga: Universidad Técnica de Cotopaxi (UTC), 2024-08) Nugshi Pazmiño, Nikol Alexandra; Romero Poveda, Angelita ElizabethIn a globalized world where human talent is the most valuable resource within organizations, it is crucial to research and develop strategies to retain high-potential employees and understand the benefits of having them at Novocentro Salcedo-Latacunga. This research adopted a qualitative approach progressing towards a quantitative one, employing an experimental design through the application of an Assessment Center, and a non-experimental approach when measuring the retention levels of high-potential staff via a survey. The Assessment Center was utilized to evaluate employees' competency levels, identifying nine individuals as high-potential. Subsequently, a retention survey was administered to these employees to collect specific data. The findings revealed that the dimension with the highest score was Training, at 67%, while the dimension with one of the lowest scores was Work-Life Balance, at 56%. This may be attributed to extended working hours, a lack of job flexibility, and insufficient policies to balance professional and personal life. Based on these findings, four strategies were proposed to enhance this dimension: work-life balance policies, workplace rest areas, family recreational activities, and training on time management. These strategies aim to improve employee satisfaction and, consequently, their retention within the company. The study concluded that retaining high-potential employees is essential, as they contribute significantly to sustainability, competitiveness, and long-term business success. Therefore, it is imperative to develop programs and implement human resource practices that prevent the loss of such talent.
