- ItemPercepción comunitaria sobre la responsabilidad ambiental de Termas de Papallacta: un enfoque desde la contabilidad social en la parroquia Papallacta.(Ecuador: La Maná: Universidad Técnica de Cotopaxi; (UTC), 2026-07-17) Toaquiza Toaquiza, Tatiana Jakeline; Díaz Córdova, Pedro Enrique; Moreno Tapia, Lucia MargothThe study examines the citizen perception in Papallacta regarding the environmental responsibility exercised by Termas de Papallacta, highlighting social accounting as a means to evaluate and disseminate sustainable performance. The research responds to the urgency of adopting responsible tourism schemes in the face of the pressure that the expansion of visitors exerts on the natural resources of the territory. The methodological approach used a dichotomous survey validated by specialists, with a content validity coefficient of 0.89, allowing the identification of trends in local opinions. The results reflect an ambivalent assessment. A large part of the inhabitants recognize ecological actions implemented by the company and perceive economic and social benefits associated with tourism activity. However, there is a critical view of the sufficiency of these initiatives and a demand to improve community ties since a key finding shows the low visibility of social accounting, unknown to the majority of residents, despite the consensus on the need for public communication, weaknesses are observed in participatory governance, expressed in reduced levels of convening and citizen dialogue. The study concludes that it is essential to strengthen the community's knowledge of environmental perception with parish committees and training workshops.
