- ItemPropuestas de recuperación de los espacios naturales con fines turísticos en el Campus Salache(Ecuador: Latacunga: Universidad Técnica de Cotopaxi (UTC)., 2024-08) Toapanta Molina, Nohely Abigail; Andrade Ayala, Andrea IsabelThe research project is carried out due to the lack of maintenance and little planning for the use of the natural spaces on the Salache campus, which is why we propose strategies for the recovery of natural spaces for tourism purposes. This information was used to construct the PESTEL matrix. The political factors include the approval and execution of projects on the campus, economic factors include investment to improve infrastructure, social factors include the development of tourist and cultural activities, technological factors include free access to the internet, ecological factors include the protection of the ecosystem in sensitive areas, and legal factors include regulations that facilitate the processes. In constructing the SWOT matrix, the green areas that can be used and the support of the University Tourism Center project for the execution of activities stand out as strengths, and among the weaknesses are the lack of coordination to receive visitors during the holiday season and the lack of inclusive access to the spaces. With this, the external assessment matrices were constructed with a total of 2.63, which is in the average to be able to take advantage of the opportunities that have allowed the tourism activity to develop at an average level, and the internal assessment with a total score of 2.28, which indicates that the campus is 0.22 tenths below the average, indicating that despite having a limitation of weaknesses, there are strengths that can be strengthened through strategies to improve the recovery processes. Finally, the strategic matrix was drawn up, in which the following stand out: Increasing the tourist signage so that visitors have a better experience within the Salache Campus, maintaining a permanent planning of tourist events and activities for leisure and recreation in order to be known at a local and national level. It can be concluded that natural areas can be used for tourism, leisure and recreational activities, but for this it is necessary to generate a planning that promotes the execution of activities in an adequate and sustainable way.
