Abstract
La presente investigación se realizó en cinco comunidades de la Provincia de Cotopaxi con el objetivo de caracterizar la productividad y distribución de la fibra de alpaca, iniciando con la selección de los animales, 12 por comunidad, 60 animales para la investigación. Se tomó datos a partir de registros existentes para definir las variables diámetro de la fibra y la longitud de la mecha, productividad y distribución. Obteniendo los siguientes promedios de diámetro de fibra: Apahua 16,06um, Maca Chico 23,20um, Maca Grande 23,06 um, Sacha 22.19um, Salache 32um con relación a la longitud de la fibra salache obtiene 15,66cm y Maca Chico 9,16 cm, determinando un peso del vellón en Salache de 4,25kg por animal, Maca chico 1,89kg los mismos que son comercializados en dos empresas Kum y Pacocha directamente de las comunidades valorando de acuerdo a la clasificación de la fibra. En este sentido se recomienda llevar a cabo la esquila en forma tecnificada diferenciando el manto y las bragas caso contrario se mezcla y obtenemos mayor cantidad de categoría corta que no tiene valor.
Description
The present investigation was carried out in five communities of the Cotopaxi Province with the objective of characterizing the productivity and distribution of alpaca fiber, beginning with the selection of animals, 12 per community, 60 animals for the investigation. Data was taken from existing records to define the variables fiber diameter and wick length, productivity and distribution. Obtaining the following fiber diameter averages: Apahua 16.06um, Maca Chico 23.20um, Maca Grande 23.06 um, Sacha 22.19um, Salache 32um in relation to the length of the fiber Salache obtained 15.66cm and Maca Chico 9.16 cm, determining a fleece weight in Salache of 4.25kg per animal, Maca chico 1.89kg the same that are marketed in two companies Kum and Pacocha directly from the communities valued according to the classification of the fiber. In this sense it is recommended to carry out the shearing in a technified way differentiating the mantle and the panties otherwise it is mixed and we obtain a greater amount of short category that has no value
