dc.descriptionThe present research project was carried out in the milk-producing farm "San Sebastián" in the Lasso sector, belonging to the Tanicuchi parish of the canton of Latacunga in the province of Cotopaxi. The objective of this research was to evaluate the prevalence of the Bovine Parainfluenza Virus type 3 (PI-3), highlighting the prevalence in positive animals by means of enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISA), to propose treatment protocols for the PI3 virus and the respective cost-benefit analysis of prevention, for which 15 female cattle of Jersey, F1 and Holstein breeds of different ages (6 months to 5 years) and at different stages of their lives were used (3 calves, 3 average, 3 bacons, 3 bellies, 3 cows in production). To evaluate the prevalence of the virus, samples of venous blood (coccygeal vein) were taken from the specimens. The result obtained in this investigation is that there is a prevalence of PI-3 of 20%, for which the corresponding treatment of viral respiratory disease , the following antibiotics can be used: (Enrofloxacin) for 3 days per day subcutaneously 5ml for every 100kg of body weight, Maxin in 20ml intramuscularly for 3 days, we have an antihistamine with doses of 10mlg intramuscularly. The costs of the Cattlemaster vaccine -4 is $104 prevention is suitable for all benefits preventing infertility, delayed conception, abortions, embryonic deaths, reducing the interval between births and improving reproductive rates and milk production.es_ES
dc.description.abstractEl presente proyecto de investigación se realizó en la Quinta ganadera productora de leche “San Sebastián” en el sector de Lasso, perteneciente a la parroquia Tanicuchi del cantón de Latacunga de la provincia de Cotopaxi. Esta investigación tuvo como objetivo evaluar la prevalencia del Virus Parainfluenza bovino tipo 3 (PI-3), Destacando la prevalencia en los animales positivos mediante ensayos por inmunoadsorción ligados a enzimas (ELISA), proponer protocolos de tratamiento del virus PI3 y se realizó el respectivo análisis costo beneficio de la prevención, para lo cual se utilizaron 15 bovinos hembras de razas Jersey, F1 y Holstein de distintas edades (6 meses a 5 años) y en diferentes etapas de su vida (3 terneras, 3 medias, 3 baconas, 3 vientres, 3 vacas en producción). Para evaluar la prevalencia del virus se tomaron muestras de sangre venosa (vena coccígea) de los especímenes El resultado que se obtuvo en esta investigación es que existe una prevalencia de PI-3 del 20% para lo cual el tratamiento correspondiente de la enfermedad respiratoria viral, se pueden utilizar los siguientes antibióticos: (Enrofloxacina) durante 3 días por días subcutánea 5ml por cada 100kg de peso vivo, Maxin en 20ml intramuscular durante3 días, tenemos un antihistamínico con las dosis de 10mlg por vía intramuscular.El costos de la vacuna Cattlemaster-4 es de$104 la prevención es conveniente para todos los beneficios previniendo .la infertilidad, la concepción retardada, abortos, muertes embrionarias, disminuye el intervalo entre partos y mejorando los índices reproductivos y la producción lechera.es_ES
