Evaluación de hongos entomopatógenos en el control de picudo (Metamasius hemipterus L) en el cultivo de baby banano en el cantón La Maná.

| dc.description | En plantaciones existen grupos de insectos-plaga que afectan al cultivo de orito, el picudo rayado (Metamasius hemipterus L.) es una de las principales plagas de importancia económica. Estos insectos causan pérdidas de producción por deterioro de la plantación o por volcamiento de las plantas. El objetivo de esta investigación fue determinar la capacidad de biocontrol de los hongos entomopatógenos en el control de picudo rayado (Metamasius hemipterus) en el cultivo de orito. Esta investigación se realizó en una plantación de baby banano, ubicada en el Cantón La Maná provincia de Cotopaxi. Se capturaron y se ubicaron 10 insectos adultos de picudo rayado por cada frasco con 100 gramos de pseudotallo. El experimento tuvo un diseño completamente al azar (DCA), con un total de tres tratamientos con cinco repeticiones. Se efectuó el análisis de varianza y de las fuentes de variación que resultaron significativas se realizó la prueba de Tukey al 5 %, para realizar el análisis se utilizó el programa statistix 10. Los datos tomados fueron el porcentaje de mortalidad y el tiempo de acción de los entomopatógenos. Se evidenció que la aplicación de hongos entomopatógenos Beauveria bassiana (Bassi 1879) y Metharizum anisopliae (Metschnikoff 1837) obtuvieron un buen porcentaje de biocontrol sobre el picudo rayado (Metamasius hemipterus) con valores de 79,86 y 77,86 % respectivamente en ensayos de laboratorio, debido a que se obtuvieron altos índices de mortalidad con los tratamientos establecidos en el experimento. La aplicación de hongos entomopatógenos realizada en este experimento produjo una alta mortalidad en un tiempo similar a otros ensayos realizados a nivel de laboratorio. | |
| dc.description.abstract | In plantations there are groups of pest insects that affect the orite crop, the striped weevil (Metamasius hemipterus L.) is one of the main pests of economic importance. These insects cause production losses due to deterioration of the plantation or by overturning of the plants. The objective of this research was to determine the biocontrol capacity of entomopathogenic fungi to control the striped weevil (Metamasius hemipterus) in the orite crop. This research was carried out in a baby banana plantation, located in the La Maná Canton, province of Cotopaxi. Ten adult striped weevil insects were captured and placed in each jar with 100 grams of pseudostem. The experiment had a completely randomized design (DCA), with a total of three treatments with five repetitions. The analysis of variance was carried out and the Tukey test was performed at 5% for the sources of variation that were significant. To carry out the analysis, the statistix 10 program was used. The data collected were the percentage of mortality and the action time of entomopathogens. It was evidenced that the application of entomopathogenic fungi Beauveria bassiana (Bassi 1879) and Metharizum anisopliae (Metschnikoff 1837) obtained a good percentage of biocontrol on the striped weevil (Metamasius hemipterus) with values of 79.86 and 77.86% respectively in tests of laboratory, because high mortality rates were obtained with the treatments established in the experiment. The application of entomopathogenic fungi carried out in this experiment produced a high mortality in a time similar to other tests carried out at the laboratory level. | |
