Abstract
El proyecto está basado en las líneas de investigación de la carrera y se enfoca en un diagnóstico para establecer el grado de interés de la juventud por el conocimiento científico y las formas de acceso a dicho contenido. Se aplicó un enfoque cualitativo, porque abarcó la recolección de datos mediante la realización de grupos de discusión; se escogió una muestra de diez jóvenes de la Escuela Politécnica del Ejército en la carrera de Hotelería y Turismo y ocho estudiantes de la Universidad Técnica de Cotopaxi en la carrera de Comunicación Social. Además se elaboró un esquema de categorías con diferentes códigos que identifican las ideas fuerza en el grupo de discusión y se realizó una comparación entre los participantes de ambos centros de educación superior. Se concluyó que los jóvenes universitarios tienen interés por el conocimiento científico orientado a temas de coyuntura, política, antropología, biología, psicología y especialmente por los avances tecnológicos. En este contexto la orientación por temas específicos depende de la disponibilidad de contenido y que sea atractivo, claro y concreto….
Description
The project is based on the lines of research of the career and focuses on a diagnosis to establish the level of interest of the youth by the scientific knowledge and the forms of access to such content. A qualitative approach was applied because it covered the collection of data by holding discussion groups; a sample of ten young people from the “Escuela Politécnica del Ejército” was chosen in the Hospitality and Tourism race and eight students from the Technical University of Cotopaxi in the Social Communication career. In addition, a scheme of categories with different codes identifying the stronger ideas in the discussion group was elaborated and a comparison was made both of higher education participants centers. It was concluded that young university students are interested in scientific knowledge oriented to issues of conjuncture, politics, anthropology, biology, psychology and technological advances too. In this context, the focus on specific topics depends on the availability of content and is attractive, clear and concrete. It was defined that the young university students of Latacunga city are closely linked with technological devices, on average a subject remains ten hours connected to the internet; of this time three are used for academic activities and the rest for entertainment and communication….
