| dc.description | In this research project, a review of the presence of Echinococcus granulosus in cattle is made, in order to determine the prevalence in animals arriving at the municipal slaughter center of Latacunga. For this purpose, the animals that entered in the month of June 2021 were taken into account, in order to collect samples and, if positive, to locate their origin. The research project has a quantitative approach, since it is expected to analyze and obtain results from a certain group of animals from a defined place. The technique of observation of macroscopic lesions in the affected organs (liver, lungs) of cattle from the municipal slaughtering center of Latacunga was proposed for the collection of samples. Thirty-three samples with macroscopic lesions were collected from cattle from the city of Latacunga and Salcedo. These samples were placed in sterile wide-mouth plastic bottles for transport to the veterinary clinic "CanVet", which has a laboratory and specialized equipment for the observation of microorganisms. The prevalence of Echinococcus granulosus in the 28 samples obtained from cattle from the city of Latacunga was 0%, since the lesions present in the affected organs were caused by other types of parasites. The remaining 5 samples from cattle from the city of Salcedo gave a prevalence of 0% for Echinococcus granulosus, since the results obtained were positive for Fasciola hepática. | es_ES |
| dc.description.abstract | En el presente proyecto de investigación se hace una revisión acerca de la presencia de Echinococcus granulosus en bovinos, con el fin de determinar la prevalencia en los animales que llegan al centro de faenamiento municipal de Latacunga. Para ello se tomaron en cuenta los animales que ingresaron en el mes de junio del año 2021, con la finalidad de recolectar muestras y al ser positivas localizar su procedencia. El proyecto de investigación tiene un enfoque cuantitativo, ya que se espera analizar y obtener resultados de un determinado grupo de animales de un lugar definido. Se planteó la técnica de observación de lesiones macroscópicas en los órganos (hígado, pulmones) afectados de los bovinos del centro de faenamiento municipal de Latacunga para la recolección de las muestras. Se recolectaron 34 muestras con lesiones macroscópicas provenientes de bovinos de la ciudad de Latacunga y Salcedo. Dichas muestras se colocaron en frascos de boca ancha estériles de plástico para su transporte a la clínica veterinaria “CanVet”, la cual cuenta con laboratorio y equipo especializado en la observación de microorganismos. La prevalencia obtenida de Echinococcus granulosus de las 29 muestras obtenidas de bovinos provenientes de la ciudad de Latacunga dio como resultado 0%, ya que las lesiones presentes en los órganos afectados fueron provocadas por otros tipos de parásitos. Las 5 muestras restantes provenientes de bovinos de la ciudad de Salcedo dieron como resultado una prevalencia de 0% para Echinococcus granulosus, ya que los resultados obtenidos dieron positivo a Fasciola hepática. | es_ES |
