- ItemSistema de control de medicamentos con analítica de datos para la toma de decisiones en la "Farmacia comunitaria"(Universidad Técnica de Cotopaxi (UTC). La Maná. Sistemas de Información, 2026-10-16) Garces Vivanco, Emily Gabriela; Ruiz Cobeña, Jhosep Fabian; Diaz Puruncaja, Danny ManuelMedication management in pharmaceutical establishments faces significant challenges arising from the absence of automated systems capable of ensuring efficient inventory control and compliance with proper storage conditions, particularly regarding product expiration and demand variability. This study analyzes the implementation of a data analytics-based medication control system, using a community pharmacy in La Maná, Ecuador, as a case study. A mixed-methods approach was applied, combining quantitative data from structured surveys administered to 100 frequent customers and qualitative data from staff interviews, alongside the analysis of operational records. This methodology enabled the evaluation of current inventory practices, identification of consumption patterns, and detection of structural process inefficiencies. Results show that 68% of customers visit the pharmacy weekly or biweekly, 42% reported having received near-expiry medications at least once, and all staff members expressed the need for automated management tools.Based on this diagnosis, an information system integrating data analytics tools was designed and implemented, incorporating six functional modules: medication registration, inventory control, expiry and low-stock alerts, predictive consumption analysis (ARIMA model), exportable reporting, and role-based access control (RBAC). The system reduced dependence on manual processes, automated inventory monitoring, and strengthened data-driven decision-making through Business Intelligence tools. These results contribute to safer medication dispensing and improved service quality in community pharmacy settings, demonstrating that accessible technological solutions can generate significant operational impact in low-digitalization contexts.
- ItemSistema de gestión con analítica de datos para optimizar las ventas en la lubricadora “Jonathan” del cantón La Maná(Universidad Técnica de Cotopaxi (UTC). La Maná. Sistemas de Información, 2026-10-16) Pilatasig Ayala, Robinson Eduardo; Unapucha Toapaxi, Mireya Cecibel; Cunuhay Cuchipe, Wilmer ClementeAutomotive microenterprises face limitations arising from the manual management of information, which scatters data and hinders evidence-based decision-making. The objective of this study was to design, develop, and implement a management system with data analytics capabilities to optimize sales at the "Jonathan" Lubrication Shop in La Maná canton (Ecuador), and to assess its impact through operational indicators. A mixed-methods approach with a non-experimental design was adopted, structured as a case study comprising a cross-sectional diagnostic phase and a pre-post evaluation; data were collected from 97 participants through surveys and semi-structured interviews. The diagnosis revealed that 34.83% of customers experienced problems when requesting services, mainly due to poor communication (46.97%) and lack of available products (33.33%), and that 67.39% had abandoned purchases because of stockouts. The system, built with Django REST Framework, Next.js, and PostgreSQL under the Scrum methodology, integrated modules for inventory with automatic alerts, point of sale, CRM with customer segmentation, and interactive dashboards. After three months of operation, a 75% reduction in sales registration time, an 89% decrease in inventory errors, and a 78% reduction in stockout incidents were recorded, along with an increase in staff satisfaction from 2.8 to 4.3 out of five points. The findings provided a replicable, affordable model for the digitalization of SMEs in Latin American contexts.
