Abstract
The present research focused on evaluating the agronomic performance of a durum wheat variety (Triticum durum,) UEB and four promising INIAP lines in the Salache campus of the Technical University of Cotopaxi, 2023-2024, taking into account the agronomic conditions of the site under study. The purpose was to find lines with better adaptability, resistance and yield for the production of this cereal in this area. A completely randomised design was applied with three replications and five treatments in plots of 3.6 m2 with a total of 15 experimental units. Variables such as emergence, days to heading, plant height, number of grains per ear, type of straw, disease reaction, grain yield, hectolitre weight, type of grain were evaluated in the ‘Cereal evaluation and selection parameter’, which helps us to determine each of the evaluation variables. For the data analysis, a normality test and Tukey at 5% were used for the analysis of variance, and for the scale variables, average tables were used. The data obtained determined that for the parameter with the best yield was UEB- carnivalero with 3333.33 kg/ha-1 followed by the promising line A-04 with a yield of 2544. 44 kg/ha-1 in contrast to the promising line A-03 with a yield of 1588.89 kg/ha-1 and the other line A-02 with a yield of 1686.11 kg/h-1 With the data obtained the line with the best yield for the study site is the variety UEB-Carnavalero as it maintains its standard and has not been degraded so it is advisable to continue with the investigation of this variety and the other lines.

La presente investigación se enfocó en evaluar el comportamiento agronómico de una variedad de trigo duro (Triticum durum,) UEB y cuatro líneas promisorias INIAP en el campus Salache de la Universidad Técnica de Cotopaxi, 2023-2024, teniendo en cuenta las condiciones agronómicas del sitio en estudio. El propósito fue encontrar líneas que tengan una mejor adaptabilidad, resistencia y mejor rendimiento para la producción de este cereal en esta zona. Se aplicó un diseño completamente al azar (DBCA) con tres repeticiones y 5 tratamientos en parcelas de 3,6 m2 con un total de 15 unidades experimentales. Se evaluó variables como emergencia, días al espigamiento, altura de planta, numero de granos por espiga, tipo de paja, reacción de enfermedades, rendimiento de grano, peso hectolitrito, tipo de grano, en el Parámetro de evaluación y selección de cereales” el cual nos ayuda a determinar cada una de las variables de evaluación. Para los análisis de datos se utilizó una prueba de normalidad y Tukey al 5% para los análisis de varianza, y para las variables de escalas se utilizó cuadros de promedios. Los datos obtenidos determinaron que para el parámetro con mejor rendimiento fue UEB- carnavalero con un 3333,33 kg/ha-1 seguido de la línea promisoria A-04 con un rendimiento 2544.44 kg/ ha--1 a diferencia de la línea promisoria A-03 con un rendimiento de 1588,89 kg/ha-1 y la otra línea A-02 con un rendimiento de 1686,11 kg/h-1 Con los datos obtenidos la línea con mejor rendimiento para el lugar de estudio es la variedad UEB-Carnavalero ya que mantiene su estándar y no se ha degradado por lo que es recomendable continuar con la investigación de esta variedad y con las otras líneas.
