Abstract
Belisario Quevedo is one of the parishes located in the province of Cotopaxi, where there are several problems within the livestock herds dedicated specifically to the production of milk, where it has been possible to conduct an in-depth descriptive study on the performance of each of the sectors at the parish level, however it is detrimental to each of the beneficiaries as they depend on other income to provide adequate maintenance to each of them. For this reason, the project of sustainable genetic improvement in dairy cattle this time has been planned for a time span of 4 months from April to July. We can also include the 9 members that belong to the project with a total of 47 cattle which were evaluated, and it is worth mentioning that a compilation of information and data was made, which will be very useful to keep records of vital traits, milk production, categorized weight gain, milk density, milk at 305 days and height at the withers as traits of great impact will be analyzed. At the same time, the information obtained through the BLUP methodology, phenotypes and genotypes are taken into account in this project, as well as the average, EBV, the response to selection. Where it was seen the overall average weight gain categorized in a total average of 318.7 gr, also the milk density 1.029 g/ml.

Belisario Quevedo es una de las parroquias ubicadas en la provincia de Cotopaxi, donde se presenta diversos problemas dentro de los hatos ganaderos dedicados a la producción específicamente de leche, en donde se ha podido realizar un estudio descriptivo a profundidad sobre el rendimiento de cada uno de los sectores a nivel de la parroquia, sin embargo es perjudicial para cada uno de los beneficiarios ya que estos dependen de otros ingresos para dar el mantenimiento adecuado a cada uno de ellos. Por tal razón el proyecto de mejoramiento genético sostenible en bovinos de leche esta vez se ha planificado un lapso de tiempo de 4 meses que va desde abril hasta julio. También podemos incluir a los 9 miembros que pertenecen al proyecto con un total de 47 bovinos los cuales fueron evaluados, y cabe destacar que se realizó una recopilación de la información y datos los cuales nos serán muy útiles para mantener los registros de caracteres de vital importancia,se analizara la producción lechera, la ganancia de peso categorizada, la densidad de la leche, leche a los 305 días y la altura de la cruz como rasgos de gran impacto. Al mismo tiempo se considera la información obtenida mediante la metodología BLUP, de fenotipos como genotipos son muy tomados en cuenta en este proyecto, pues, así como es, el promedio, EBV, la respuesta a la selección. En donde se vio el promedio general de la ganancia de peso categorizada en un promedio total de 318,7 gr, también la densidad de leche 1.029 g/ml, lactancia a los 305 días es de 1357,21 litros y el promedio de la altura de la cruz es de 187 cm. Después también se valoran los costos de producción en donde el precio de compra de leche es de 0,40 obteniendo un promedio de 0,26 centavos por producir un litro de leche respectivamente generando un beneficio de 0,14 centavos.
