The aim of this study was to analyze the relationship between administrative management and innovation in the production processes at Sanbel Flowers Cía. Ltda., located in Aláquez parish, Latacunga canton, Cotopaxi province. The study was based on the fact that the lack of a structured administrative process and the dependence on the individual judgment of agronomists during the harvesting process limit the company's performance and competitiveness. The research followed a quantitative approach with a descriptive-correlational scope and a non-experimental crosssectional design. A survey was used as the main data collection technique and was applied to a sample of 90 employees from a total population of 115. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire consisting of 24 Likert-scale items. The reliability of the instrument was confirmed using Cronbach's alpha (0.940). The results showed that both variables were perceived at a high level, with administrative management obtaining a slightly higher mean score (4.12/5) than process innovation (3.92/5). In addition, Spearman's Rho correlation coefficient revealed a positive, direct, and statistically significant relationship between the two variables (Rho = 0.743; p < 0.01). The coefficient of determination (R² = 62.6%) confirmed that administrative management is the main predictor of innovation in the company's production processes. Based on these findings, recommendations are proposed to strengthen innovation through the establishment of research and development goals, the allocation of a specific budget for innovation activities, and the implementation of continuous training programs for technical and administrative staff. Finally, it is concluded that administrative management has a direct influence on innovation in production processes and that strengthening it contributes to improving organizational performance, optimizing product quality, and ensuring the company's sustainability in the floriculture sector

Automotive microenterprises face limitations arising from the manual management of information, which scatters data and hinders evidence-based decision-making. The objective of this study was to design, develop, and implement a management system with data analytics capabilities to optimize sales at the "Jonathan" Lubrication Shop in La Maná canton (Ecuador), and to assess its impact through operational indicators. A mixed-methods approach with a non-experimental design was adopted, structured as a case study comprising a cross-sectional diagnostic phase and a pre-post evaluation; data were collected from 97 participants through surveys and semi-structured interviews. The diagnosis revealed that 34.83% of customers experienced problems when requesting services, mainly due to poor communication (46.97%) and lack of available products (33.33%), and that 67.39% had abandoned purchases because of stockouts. The system, built with Django REST Framework, Next.js, and PostgreSQL under the Scrum methodology, integrated modules for inventory with automatic alerts, point of sale, CRM with customer segmentation, and interactive dashboards. After three months of operation, a 75% reduction in sales registration time, an 89% decrease in inventory errors, and a 78% reduction in stockout incidents were recorded, along with an increase in staff satisfaction from 2.8 to 4.3 out of five points. The findings provided a replicable, affordable model for the digitalization of SMEs in Latin American contexts. General area of study: Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) / Systems Engineering. Specific area of study: Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, Sales Management Systems. (Universidad Técnica de Cotopaxi (UTC). Ciencias Administrativas y Económicas. Administración de Empresas, 2026-08-17) Maigua Cango, Bryan Alexander; Ramírez Jiménez, Santiago Fernan
This work develops a business plan for the production and marketing of BioDefens, a natural and ecological pepper spray made from organic pepper extract, organic alcohol, liquid glycerin, and distilled water, as an accessible and legal self-defense alternative to imported chemical sprays. The research was conducted through a mixed approach of a descriptive and purposeful type, applying a survey to 382 inhabitants of Latacunga City (317 valid responses) aged 25 to 54, whose results showed high acceptance of the product, with 96% of respondents willing to purchase it. The marketing analysis focused on brand positioning through the Canvas model and the 4P strategy, while the technical study established the production process, necessary resources, and installed capacity of 3,000 monthly units. The financial analysis, with the updated price of $4.50 per unit, demonstrates economic viability with a Net Present Value (NPV) of $2,059.20, an Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of 23.06% (significantly exceeding the Minimum Acceptable Rate of Return of 12%), a cost-benefit ratio of $1.02, and an investment recovery period of 3 years and 9 months. These indicators confirm that the project is profitable and sustainable in the medium term, generating a positive impact on citizen safety and local economic development through the use of natural, regionally sourced inputs.

Medication management in pharmaceutical establishments faces significant challenges arising from the absence of automated systems capable of ensuring efficient inventory control and compliance with proper storage conditions, particularly regarding product expiration and demand variability. This study analyzes the implementation of a data analytics-based medication control system, using a community pharmacy in La Maná, Ecuador, as a case study. A mixed-methods approach was applied, combining quantitative data from structured surveys administered to 100 frequent customers and qualitative data from staff interviews, alongside the analysis of operational records. This methodology enabled the evaluation of current inventory practices, identification of consumption patterns, and detection of structural process inefficiencies. Results show that 68% of customers visit the pharmacy weekly or biweekly, 42% reported having received near-expiry medications at least once, and all staff members expressed the need for automated management tools.Based on this diagnosis, an information system integrating data analytics tools was designed and implemented, incorporating six functional modules: medication registration, inventory control, expiry and low-stock alerts, predictive consumption analysis (ARIMA model), exportable reporting, and role-based access control (RBAC). The system reduced dependence on manual processes, automated inventory monitoring, and strengthened data-driven decision-making through Business Intelligence tools. These results contribute to safer medication dispensing and improved service quality in community pharmacy settings, demonstrating that accessible technological solutions can generate significant operational impact in low-digitalization contexts.

(Universidad Técnica de Cotopaxi (UTC). La Mana. Sistemas de Información, 2026-10-16) Macías Cajamarca, Diego Andrés ; Vinces Manzaba, Luis Alexander; Bajaña Zajia, Johnny Xavier
Banana cultivation is one of the main pillars of the Ecuadorian economy; however, in many farms productivity is still limited by traditional agronomic monitoring practices, fragmented records, and inefficient administrative processes. In this context, the objective of this research was to implement a comprehensive web-based system for the analysis and prediction of agronomic conditions in order to optimize crop yield at the "La Fortuna" farm, located in Valencia canton. The study followed a mixed, applied, and descriptive approach and was supported by the Scrum framework to organize the technological development process. During the diagnostic stage, 15 strategic stakeholders from the farm participated, enabling the identification of operational needs, the standardization of 18 critical variables climatic, edaphic, nutritional, phytosanitary, productive, and management and the integration of information into a single platform. A Ridge Regression model was implemented for yield prediction, reaching a coefficient of determination of R² = 0.70 and a Mean Absolute Percentage Error of 17.9%, values that demonstrate adequate predictive capacity to support operational planning. The platform reduced by 93% the administrative time required to generate reports measured through real-time chronometry before and after implementation and achieved a user acceptance rate of 96.7%, assessed through a five-point Likert scale. The integration of data analytics, digital traceability, and automated prediction strengthens decision-making and promotes more precise, timely, and sustainable agronomic management.
