- Item“Ubicación de los elementos de protecciones en sistemas eléctricos de distribución considerando la confiabilidad del sistema”(Ecuador: Latacunga: Universidad Técnica de Cotopaxi: (UTC), 2024-08) Cristian Stalin, Chicaiza Santafe; Proaño Maldonado, Xavier AlfonsoElectrical distribution systems are constantly growing due to increasing energy demand. Therefore, it is essential to determine the optimal location of protection elements to improve networks' efficiency and reliability. This research focuses on assessing the impact of reliability by implementing a strategy that seeks the optimal location of the protection devices using a mathematical model based on linear programming. The main objective is to minimize the SAIFI reliability index and find the best location for the protection elements. For this purpose, reliability standards and regulations are taken into account, as well as the identification of permanent and temporary faults that affect the users of the electricity system. The implementation and validation of the model are carried out using the AMPL programming language, complemented by the use of PowerFactory software to model the electrical system and evaluate reliability after the protection devices' implementation. The results support the applied methodology, demonstrating its effectiveness in improving the reliability of electrical distribution systems and providing a solid basis for future optimizations in the electrical engineering field.
