Medication management in pharmaceutical establishments faces significant challenges arising from the absence of automated systems capable of ensuring efficient inventory control and compliance with proper storage conditions, particularly regarding product expiration and demand variability. This study analyzes the implementation of a data analytics-based medication control system, using a community pharmacy in La Maná, Ecuador, as a case study. A mixed-methods approach was applied, combining quantitative data from structured surveys administered to 100 frequent customers and qualitative data from staff interviews, alongside the analysis of operational records. This methodology enabled the evaluation of current inventory practices, identification of consumption patterns, and detection of structural process inefficiencies. Results show that 68% of customers visit the pharmacy weekly or biweekly, 42% reported having received near-expiry medications at least once, and all staff members expressed the need for automated management tools.Based on this diagnosis, an information system integrating data analytics tools was designed and implemented, incorporating six functional modules: medication registration, inventory control, expiry and low-stock alerts, predictive consumption analysis (ARIMA model), exportable reporting, and role-based access control (RBAC). The system reduced dependence on manual processes, automated inventory monitoring, and strengthened data-driven decision-making through Business Intelligence tools. These results contribute to safer medication dispensing and improved service quality in community pharmacy settings, demonstrating that accessible technological solutions can generate significant operational impact in low-digitalization contexts.

Banana cultivation is one of the main pillars of the Ecuadorian economy; however, in many farms productivity is still limited by traditional agronomic monitoring practices, fragmented records, and inefficient administrative processes. In this context, the objective of this research was to implement a comprehensive web-based system for the analysis and prediction of agronomic conditions in order to optimize crop yield at the "La Fortuna" farm, located in Valencia canton. The study followed a mixed, applied, and descriptive approach and was supported by the Scrum framework to organize the technological development process. During the diagnostic stage, 15 strategic stakeholders from the farm participated, enabling the identification of operational needs, the standardization of 18 critical variables climatic, edaphic, nutritional, phytosanitary, productive, and management and the integration of information into a single platform. A Ridge Regression model was implemented for yield prediction, reaching a coefficient of determination of R² = 0.70 and a Mean Absolute Percentage Error of 17.9%, values that demonstrate adequate predictive capacity to support operational planning. The platform reduced by 93% the administrative time required to generate reports measured through real-time chronometry before and after implementation and achieved a user acceptance rate of 96.7%, assessed through a five-point Likert scale. The integration of data analytics, digital traceability, and automated prediction strengthens decision-making and promotes more precise, timely, and sustainable agronomic management.

(Universidad Técnica de Cotopaxi (UTC). La Mana. Electromecánica, 2026-10-15) Constante Granja, Edison Ronaldo; Solis Vera, Cristian Andrés; Najarro Quintero, Rodolfo
Online programming education continues to face structural challenges: delayed feedback, limited personalization, weak articulation between pedagogical support and academic operations, and growing information-security risks in digital educational platforms. This article describes the design, implementation, and evaluation of a decentralized web application for P2P-Academy, integrating educational management, synchronous sessions, progress tracking, continuous assessment, multichannel payments, universal accessibility, and a cryptographic security layer as a structural component. The research was conducted as an applied case study with a mixed-methods approach, combining technical system analysis, functional and non-functional testing, and an exploratory four-week pilot with 84 students and 12 instructors. The platform was built with Next.js on the frontend and Django REST Framework on the backend, incorporating JWT authentication, real-time communication via Django Channels, TLS 1.3 for data in transit, AES-256 encryption for sensitive data, hash-based certificate verification, role-differentiated dashboards, and modules for courses, sessions, progress, messaging, and payments, with decentralized architectural elements for transactions and certifications. Results show high functional performance: a 99.1 % success rate across 214 end-to-end test cases; video-call latencies of 180–220 ms with a MOS of 4.3/5; a global p95 of 2.1 s under 1,000 concurrent users; a payment success rate of 98.7 %; WCAG 2.1 AA compliance; a SUS score of 86/100; and an NPS of 72. At the educational level, the pilot recorded gains of 14–18 % in retention, 21 % in module completion, and improvements in satisfaction and learning tracking, supported by formative assessment strategies and immediate feedback. The study concludes that P2P-Academy constitutes a technically robust and pedagogically coherent solution whose differential contribution lies in integrating academic workflow, peer-to-peer interaction, cryptographic security, and evidence traceability within a single unified architecture; nonetheless, longitudinal validation and broader testing under large-scale scenarios are required.

Introduction: The efficiency of inventory management, agronomic monitoring, and report generation for analysis are decisive factors in creating decision-making models for complex, non-linear contexts. Objectives: This research implements and evaluates the performance of a web-based system for the operational management of Bananera HG, utilizing intelligent notification agents. Methodology: ...based on a mixed-methods approach adopted for the application of a non-experimental, cross-sectional design, integrated with an implementation phase to evaluate the system in an operational environment. A representative sample of 60 active employees from Bananera HG was selected; participants were chosen using probability sampling, ensuring a 95% confidence level. Results: Data analysis revealed critical weaknesses; error indicators showed a 78% impact, with reporting delays reaching up to 25 minutes. The implementation of the operational management system achieved a 45% reduction in operational errors and an 80% optimization in report generation, cutting process flow times down to 5 minutes. Furthermore, the integration of the smart notification agent achieved an 88% positive rating, based on the feedback provided by the staff. Conclusions: The findings confirm that replacing manual, analog processes with an automated system driven by artificial intelligence minimizes data inconsistency and variability while optimizing efficiency parameters in the agricultural sector—as demonstrated at Bananera HG—thereby validating the viability of technological solutions tailored to specific local conditions. At the San Francisco de Asís Intercultural Bilingual Community Educational Unit, located in Loreto, Orellana, academic activities in Mechatronics and Automotive Electromechanics were conducted primarily through face-to-face instruction and using tools not designed for educational purposes, which made it difficult to organize content, track assignments, and provide feedback. The objective of this project was to implement a Moodle-based Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), deployed on a cloud computing infrastructure under the Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) model, aligned with the pedagogical phases of the Intercultural Bilingual Education System Model (MOSEIB) and featuring a bilingual Kichwa Spanish interface. The implementation was carried out using the ADDIE instructional design model, whose five phases organized the project into three stages. During the Analysis phase, the technological infrastructure, connectivity, and digital literacy of teachers and students were assessed, and background information on Moodle, cloud computing, and MOSEIB was reviewed. During the Design phase, the technological architecture was established, taking into account criteria for sizing, security, and vendor selection, along with a course template structured according to the four phases of the MOSEIB knowledge system. The Development, Implementation, and Evaluation phases were carried out in an integrated manner due to the iterative nature of the deployment. The platform was installed on a virtual private server using open-source software, and a custom Amazonian Kichwa language pack—identified by the code qvo—was developed, incorporating 73 core strings. Its functionality was verified through technical testing, the System Usability Scale (SUS), and adoption metrics. As a result, a live virtual campus with six operational courses was established, centralizing resources, assignments, quizzes, forums, and asynchronous communication, with access from mobile devices and adaptation to the bilingual intercultural context. Testing with 60 concurrent users recorded an average response time of 1.37 seconds and 0% errors. In addition, restoring a backup allowed for the recovery of courses, users, and grades in less than 15 minutes, while the encrypted connection received an A+ rating from SSL Labs. The usability evaluation, conducted with 38 participants, achieved an average SUS score of 91.12 out of 100, classified as excellent (Grade A), with no significant differences between faculty and students. In terms of adoption, there were 300 submissions out of 500 assigned assignments, 163 quiz attempts, and 996 sessions. Furthermore, 62.5% of instructors and 40% of students voluntarily selected the Kichwa interface. Finally, the self-managed model represented an expenditure of 182.78 USD during the first year, with estimated recurring savings of between 60% and 66% compared to an equivalent commercial alternative. It is concluded that the integration of Moodle and cloud computing using open-source software—guided by the ADDIE model and aligned with MOSEIB—constitutes a technically, pedagogically, and economically sustainable alternative for Intercultural Bilingual Education.
