- ItemEvaluación del sistema hidrosanitario de los bloques A y B de la Universidad Técnica de Cotopaxi, Campus Matriz.(Ecuador: Latacunga: Universidad Técnica de Cotopaxi: (UTC), 2024-08) Alpusig Chuqui, Hugo Geovanny; Bustos Arias, Jeniffer Nicole; Mogro Cepeda, Yenson VinicioHydro sanitary systems are a fundamental part of the society development and growth, as they help prevent future problems. Evaluating the hydrosanitary system to A and B blocks from the Technical University of Cotopaxi, Matrix Campus was the objective, through field information to identify the current condition and situation. The research method is quantitative because allows us to measure and analyze data efficiently and compare results with current standards and regulations in the country. Water supply provisions were determined according to the recommendations of NEC11 (Ecuadorian Construction Standard), Chapter 16, concerning the supply assigned for buildings of these characteristics. The parameters design for wastewater and rainwater were selected from the Standards for the Study and Design of Drinking Water and Wastewater of INEN (Ecuadorian Institute of Standardization). The most significant results about this research demonstrated that the pressure on the different floors ranges between 15 and 35 PSI, complying with the requirements established by current regulations and ensuring the proper functioning of sanitary appliances, which require a minimum of 14.22 PSI. However, due to a high service demand, the pumping system requires higher power than currently available. Additionally, areas that were not included in the original plans were identified, highlighting the conducting importance a detailed on-site inspection to subsequently update the design modifications. Finally, it is recommended that future engineers use updated methods and regulations in the country for the respective hydrosanitary calculations and designs.
